Luis Leon has been addressing male issues since 1990. He and his wife Mayra are currently involved in many community efforts to help families. They started a Career and Educational Program called: Da’ Place! They were invited by the Hillsborough County School Board to conduct motivational sessions in the public schools to raise awareness of the critical component for student success, parent involvement. He is currently in the position of Parent/Male Involvement Coordinator for Head Start. He is also pastor of Jesus Cares Ministries out of Hernando County Florida where he is dedicated toward helping families succeed.
With over with over 20 years of experience, an Associates in Business, as a father of 7, and an outstanding 8 years military service in the United States Air Force, Mr. Leon has a passion towards education and helping males achieve their God given potential. His excellent motivation/people skills make him an effective speaker. He lives by as iron sharpens iron, so does one man strengthen the other. He believes that if you could help strengthen and build someone else’s character it will only help build you own. Very motivated, highly impacting, energetic, Mr. Leon is focused on empowering males! Vermelle Greene has been an educator for more than 35 years, teaching as well as administrating at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Her experience extends to the corporate level where she was a Customer Education Representative with the Xerox Corporation. She has presented workshops for numerous organizations including the National Middle Schools Association, the Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals, and the Maryland Middle School Association. In addition, Vermelle has conducted workshops for hundreds of teachers and administrators on the east coast from New York to Florida.
Vermelle retired from Prince George’s County (Maryland) Public Schools, then went on to become Founding Principal of S.A.C.R.E.D. Life Academy for Boys in 2001. The innovative curriculum focuses on understanding and accommodating the academic, social, developmental, and physical needs of young men in kindergarten through 8th grade.
Vermelle and her husband Vernon have two married children, and three beautiful granddaughters. They live in rural Charles County, Maryland, just 35 minutes from the Nation’s Capital.

Stephanie Meegan’s focus over the past 30 years has been to promote the personal safety and resiliency of children. In the 1980’s she authored two nationally-recognized programs. The award-winning “Peer Proofing” helps children develop assertiveness skills and respond confidently to peer pressure. The prevention principles established in Kids & Company: Together for Safety? became
the foundation for many prevention resources developed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
In collaboration with parents, educators, law enforcement and mental health professionals, Stephanie offers programs for helping children strengthen social skills, prevent substance abuse, build character, manage stress, grieve loss, and constructively move through and beyond conflict.
In recent years, she has worked with adults to more fully address the developmental and learning needs of boys; to intervene effectively with youth who bully or are bullied, and to empower children and teens with constructive bystander options for transforming the bullying dynamic.

We use the power of running and lively group activities to equip boys with tools to lead a balanced and fulfilling life — emotionally, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Our boys feel the strength of being connected to others through positive communication and team interaction. Upon leaving the program we watch for our boys to take responsibility for all aspects of their health and confidently lead for positive change around them. Rick Mauderer, owner of Wise Learning Systems, is an advocate for children. He is highly trained in high yield instructional methods, gender differentiated instruction, and administrative interventions for educational settings. He speaks in prisons, schools, churches, and public gatherings. He teaches a Batterer Intervention Program for court ordered offenders in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, counsels children in crisis, and intervenes in troubled families. Rick is a certified trainer with the Gurian Institute as well as a trained facilitator of “Positive Steps”, a juvenile first offender program developed for the Dallas Police Dept. Rick believes that a person is on the best road to wholeness when they are growing spiritually.
