Brian Bradley is the creator, author and illustrator of Kingdom Comics which are Christian comic books. Within these stories, the importance of having faith in God is emphasized and their goal is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Kingdom Comics are one of a kind, especially compared to mainstream comic books. These are perfect for middle aged boys because there are detailed illustrations and dialogue for every piece of the story and the reader won’t have to depend on their imagination to picture what is going on. This makes the story come alive even more.
The Annointed 7 is the first book of Kingdom Comics. It takes place “on a planet that will one day be called Earth” with lots of angels and people who come together all in shock at what happened beforehand. There were seven individuals who had not seen each other in decades finally reuniting. They are all vessels of God who were separated long before and knew they were going to be brought back together one day and exactly why. It was to defeat an evil judge named Z’Onyx. His goal was to destroy the entire universe and the anointed seven had to take a stand and fight him immediately. Dunamis had to part ways with his wife, Shanna, who he wouldn’t be able to see again. They both knew this day would come.
Next, each of the seven turned to bright iridescent colors as they traveled back in time and went to another universe in order to fight Z’Onyx. They were chosen by the God who created Z’Onyx to fight him. He was created with great discernment, vision, infinite knowledge and the secrets of good and evil. It was his job to fairly judge everyone in the universe. He even created five judges from himself when the universe was expanding and he knew he would need more help. They would all judge every planet fairly – blessing and condemning them all – in the name of Z’Onyx.
Unfortunately, there came a point where Z’Onyx was full of pride and wanted to be worshipped. Then he notices that his universe has been invaded and someone was on the planet Saturn. He knows this individual has come from another universe and goes through a portal to see who it is. He is full of rage when he yells and asks who it is and where they came from. It is Lord Christopher who says he came from planet Earth and was chosen by God to travel back in time to defeat Z’Onyx. Then, he gets even angrier that Lord Christopher is even there and releases all of his angels and warriors. Lord Christopher was starting to lose faith and was beginning to believe he was actually in Hell, when the anointed seven finally showed up.
In Conclusion, Kingdom Comics are the books for boys. There are superheroes and villains, and a whole lot of action and fighting. These faith-based comic books with superheroes full of faith can even instill confidence in your son and his abilities. The Annointed 7 ends on a cliffhanger and which will only make him want to read more. If you want your son excited about reading, then put one of these books in his hands.
