Julie Coates
Julie Coates is an experienced researcher, teacher and trainer in the area of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, teaching in diverse classrooms, and generational learning styles. She teaches courses at the graduate level in adult and higher education for the University of South Dakota and Framingham State University in Framingham, MA, does seminars, training and online courses for K-12 teachers, and has experience teaching in an elementary school. Coates wrote the pioneering book Generational Learning Styles, which was recently released. She authored a chapter on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder as co-author of book, The Pedagogy of the 21st Century and co-authored the monograph, Smart Boys, Bad Grades. Her most recent book is Invisible Diversity: Teaching Every Student, published in 2019 . Julie was Interviewed for a documentary on the Civil Rights Movement in North Carolina and is featured in the Video “Change Comes Knocking.” She also contributed to the book, To Right These Wrongs, published by the UNC Press in Chapel Hill, NC. She has also been interviewed by “The New York Times,” “The BBC,” “Psychology Today,” “The Chicago Tribune,” and other media.
